MarketShare has launched a campaign seeking 100,000 people to each donate $1 toward the King Street Market project. Called “100,000 Founders,” the campaign is designed to engage community in popular support for this effort.

The King Street Market project would transform the vacant street level of the historic King Street Station into a permanent international street food market, incubating food stall businesses run by under-resourced immigrant, refugee, and indigenous entrepreneurs. The funding would allow MarketShare and its partners to: finalize the market design; develop business incubation programming; enlist project leadership driven by immigrant, refugee, and indigenous communities; present plans to the City of Seattle; and more.

The 100,000 Founders campaign launches on Wednesday, May 2 at Optimism Brewing Company from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. To register, click here.
