About the International Examiner:

The International Examiner is the only nonprofit Asian Pacific American media organization of its kind in the country, and the oldest Asian American publication in the Northwest. Established in 1974, the IE is anchored as a news publication and has expanded into a strong online news source (www.iexaminer.org) with a growing and influential social media platform. It is located in the heart of Seattle’s Chinatown-International District.


INTERNSHIPS

The International Examiner brings on interns on a rolling basis. Internships in the following areas are regularly available:

  • Journalism
  • Digital & Social Media
  • Marketing & Community Outreach
  • Event Coordinating
  • Administration & Operations

Weekly Schedule: Flexible. Preferred minimum of 4-12 hours/week

Seeking graduate or college-level students, with credits or project work available.

Compensation: Stipend and/or school credit.

FREELANCE WRITERS 

Are you a skilled storyteller, writer, or journalist who wants to contribute to local community media? The IE is seeking news and arts freelance writers to join our extended family of contributors!

Compensation: DOE.

Are you passionate about the Asian Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander American community? Do you want to be a part of shaping grassroots media? Do you have a unique perspective and background that can contribute to the IE’s direction?

The IE is now seeking motivated people to join our board of directors. In particular, we are seeking board candidates with professional financial expertise and/or media industry knowledge, but will consider all interested candidates.
