Kodomo no Hi, also known as Children’s Day Festival, is an annual event hosted by the Japanese Cultural & Community Center of Washington that encourages children and families to explore and learn about Japanese art, culture, food, and music. The event is free and open to the public.

It will feature entertainment and demonstrations by various artists, performers, and community groups that include taiko, martial arts, manga workshop, and more. Children, families, and the general public are encouraged to attend.

This year, Kodomo no Hi will highlight manga culture with artist demonstrations, a workshop, a manga drawing contest, and more! Other attractions include numerous hands-on activities like maneki neko (lucky cat) hat making, origami and other crafts, water yoyo fishing, taiko performance and workshop by Kaze Daiko, wotagei demo, martial arts, storytelling and tasty food from local vendors.
