C.A.C.A. – Seattle, the Seattle Chinese Women’s Club (SCWC) and the Chinese Information & Service Center (CISC) will sponsor a Fall Rice Drive on Saturday, November 5. They are asking for community volunteers to help bag rice, organize, and distrbute food items to seniors. CISC will preregister and provide coupons to area seniors, who will receive a 5 pound bag of rice and other food items. The two shifts are bagging rice from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and distribution to seniors from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The rice drive will take place at CISC (611 S. Lane St., Seattle near Uwajimaya).

Also, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., C.A.C.A. – Seattle has partnered with Asian Pacific Islanders for Civic Empowerment (APACE) to provide voting assistance at a Ballot Party taking place on Saturday, November 5.  Members from APACE will be available at CISC to answer any questions about voting, translation assistance and how to cast a ballot.  Attendees will have an option to cast their Presidential Election voting ballot at CISC.
