Spring Rollin’!
Support the Chinatown/ID and SCIDpda! Tickets are on sale now for the 2012 ID Spring Roll presented by KeyBank.
Join the Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda) in its annual ID Spring Roll 2012 — a vibrant cultural celebration featuring gourmet pan-Asian food, exciting entertainment, fabulous auction items and its famous spring roll eating contest. This year’s event will be on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Georgetown Ballroom.
The SCIDpda is a nonprofit working to “preserve, promote, and develop the Seattle Chinatown International District as a vibrant community and unique ethnic neighborhood.”
The event will honor the tireless community-building efforts of the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience which has been a cultural cornerstone and education resource in the Chinatown International District for over 30 years. Fellow honoree, Jeff Hou, Associate Professor and Chair of Landscape Architecture at the University of Washington, will be recognized for his work in collaborative neighborhood design. Hou is a catalyst for bringing community stakeholders together to coordinate physical improvements, including the recently re-opened International Children’s Park and the King St. Visioning Project.
Don’t miss this vibrant cultural celebration. This year’s lineup features culinary samplings from Marination Mobile, Molly Moon’s, Ninkasi Brewing Company, Pearl Vodka, Phnom Penh, Red Lantern, Umai-do, and Zac Mezcal! The event will also have some amazing live and silent auction items, the entertainment will be livelier than ever, and of course, there is the famous spring roll eating contest. Not to mention supporting a great organization and neighborhood! Proceeds from the ID Spring Roll will support SCIDpda’s community development programs and projects.
