Twelve Asian Pacific Islander (API) media, community and advocacy organizations are co-sponsoring a fair candidate forum on Friday, Oct. 11 to provide the API community with information from the candidates regarding their thoughts and responses to API community needs and interests. In attendance will be Seattle City Council Position 2 candidates incumbent Richard Conlin and challenger Kshama Sawant;  Seattle City Council Position 8 candidates incumbent Mike O’Brien and challenger Albert Shen; and Seattle City Mayoral candidates incumbent Mike McGinn and challenger Sen. Ed Murray.

The API Forum is co-sponsored by the Asian Pacific Islander Americans for Civic Empowerment, Asian Pacific Islander Coalition, King County, Asian Pacific Islander Directors Coalition, Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Association, Filipino American Political Action Group of Washington, International Examiner, Japanese American Citizens League Seattle Chapter, Northwest Asian Weekly/Seattle Chinese Post, Organization of Chinese Americans of Greater Seattle, Phuong Dong Times, Vietnamese American Community of Seattle and Sno-King Counties and Washington State India Trade Relations Action Committee.

This event is free and takes place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 at the Asian Counseling and Referral Service building on 3639 MLK Jr. Way South in South Seattle.
