
Civic and community leaders from throughout south King County will join Metropolitan King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer, and Moon Duk-ho, Consul General for the Republic of Korea, for a recognition of Korea’s Liberation Day during the August 15, 2016 King County Council meeting.
The meeting will take place at King County Courthouse, 10th Floor (516 Third Avenue, Seattle) at 1:30 p.m. During this meeting, Councilmembers will recognize the August 15 Republic of Korea national holiday “Liberation Day,” which celebrates the end of 35 years of Japanese occupation in the Korean Peninsula, and the culmination of World War II. This holiday also marks the establishment of the first Republic of Korea in 1948.
