On Saturday and Sunday, August 27 and 28, Seattle Center Festál will present Tibet Fest, a free festival highlighting Himalayan arts, music and stories. It will take place from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Seattle Center Armory and Fisher Rooftop.

This year marks the 21st annual festival, and includes live performances like Tibetan opera and tap and yak dances. Activities include the creation of an intricate sand mandala, a cultural fashion show, the sampling of Tibetan momo (dumplings with meat, vegetable or cheese filling) and a demonstration on making this savory dish at home. Activities for all ages include a class on traditional Tibetan dresses, mandala coloring and screenings of kid-friendly films about Tibet.
