C.A.C.A Seattle will be hosting its Annual Rice Drive for seniors in Chinatown with the goal of handing out 1,000 lbs of rice. They will be repackaging rice into 5lb bags and handing them out to seniors at Chinese Information and Service Center (CISC) from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, February 27. This is a very hands-on event. Interact with members of the community. Children are especially welcome. Each $15 donation will go toward purchasing 20lbs of short grain rice. There will also be a National Essay Contest for all high school students at NE Seattle Library from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 5 with a national grand prize of $1000. C.A.C.A.
