SEATTLE, WA — Beacon Arts invites the community to Japan on Beacon Hill, a free, family-friendly celebration of Japanese culture on Saturday, September 12, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Part of the monthly Beacon Arts Street Fair series, the event will take place throughout Centilia Cultural Center, Plaza Roberto Maestas, and S. Roberto Maestas Festival Street.
This year’s celebration will honor Tazue and Yutaka Sasaki for their extraordinary contributions to Seattle’s cultural community. For more than 50 years, the Sasakis have helped bring Japanese culture to generations of visitors through their dedication to the Seattle Cherry Blossom Festival at Seattle Center. The event will feature live music and cultural performances, traditional demonstrations, hands-on activities, local food vendors, a community market, raffle prizes, and family-friendly experiences throughout the day. Japan on Beacon Hill celebrates the rich traditions of Japanese culture while creating opportunities for neighbors to gather, learn, and connect through the arts.
