Hundreds of people attended the Fourth Annual Sushi & Sake Festival on Oct. 25 at the Grand Hyatt Seattle. The event is sponsored by the Japanese American Chamber of Commerce, which has a 12-year tradition of producing fundraising events.

Ten of the best sushi chefs prepared as much sushi as the crowd could eat. The guests were able to taste sake and beer while mingling with old and newfound friends.

This year’s event featured an expanded exhibit area of hard-to-find Japanese goods and art.

Participating restaurants included Chiso Restaurant, Hiroshi’s Restaurant and Catering Service, I Love Sushi, Kisaku Restaurant, Mashiko Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar, Nishino, Ricenroll, Sushiman and Sushi Zen. Sake, beer and food vendors were Asahi Beer USA, Inc., Edward International, JFC International Inc. and Maeda-En USA.

Proceeds from the event will encourage umbilical cord blood donations for medical purposes.
