Two distinguished poets who happen to be good friends, Tess Gallagher and Lawrence Matsuda, have collaborated on a new book of poems, Boogie-Woogie Crisscross (MadHat Press). Written over the years, most when Gallagher would be in Ireland, and Matsuda in Seattle, the two corresponded in a playful, spirited exchange. Gallagher has published most of her poetry and fiction with Graywolf Press. Midnight Lantern: New and Selected Poems is her most recent major collection. Matsuda is author of the poetry collection, A Cold Wind from Idaho, and an earlier collaborative effort with artist Roger Shimomura, Glimpses of a Forever Foreigner.
Catch them both on Thursday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. at The Elliott Bay Book Company (1521 10th Ave., Seattle, WA 98122).
