It’s been a long time coming but we would like to welcome our loyal readers to the return of our Pacific Reader book review supplement that covers new titles by or about Asians in North America as well as new books from Asia. This new issue is a special feature on books for kids and young adults. It is dedicated to the vision of the late Eydie Detera who always had the welfare of children in mind. My deepest thanks to all the contributors, advertisers, publishers and most of all to the community of friends and supporters who so kindly donated funds at my birthday celebration to keep Pacific Reader going. Thanks to everyone for their patience. Thanks to the Examiner staff for their help. Thanks. Hope you enjoy this issue and happy reading until we meet again.
