The 11th annual Pride ASIA Festival was celebrated on Sunday, May 28 at Hing Hay Park in Seattle’s Chinatown International District (CID.) The festival was hosted by Pride ASIA founder Aleksa Manila with Miss Gay Washington Dutchess Drew and Seattle drag legend Gaysha Starr.

Hing Hay Park was crowded from noon to evening to celebrate the ANHPIA LGBTQIA+ community and to see colorful and amazing performances. Drag queens like Whisper Watershadow, Kung Pow Meow, musicians like Kince de Vera and David Leong’s Northwest Kung Fu & Lion Dance and many more made the 11th Pride ASIA Festival an attractive one.

City of Seattle Councilmember Tammy Morales, Seattle LGBTQ Commissioner Victor Loo, Rep. My-Linh Thai, and Dominique Stephens from the Seattle Mayor’s office also joined the event. Community partners from Asian Trance Sisters Community Space, The QLAW Foundation of Washington, GenPride, UTOPIA Washington, and Wing Luke Museum were also present at festival.

Pride ASIA’s mission is to celebrate, empower and nurture the multi-cultural diversity of the LGBTQ communities through the Asian Pacific Islander lens.
