The National Asian Pacific Center on Aging (NAPCA) reminds API seniors to get their flu shots. Researchers from the National Institute of Health (NIH) say that seniors, as well as children and those with medical conditions, have the highest risk for potentially life-threatening complications from the flu. Couple that with statistics showing nearly half of all API seniors 65 and above do not get flu shots. If they are covered by Medicare Part B, the flu shots will be given for free.To find a location that offers flu shots close to you, call the NAPCA Helpline: English 1-800-336-2722; Chinese 1-800-582-4218; Korean 1-800-582-4259; Vietnamese 1-800-582-4336.
