The Washington Vietnamese American (WAVA) Chamber of Commerce was featured in the November edition of Seattle Magazine’s “2009 Influential Acts”. As executive director and lead negotiator for the Dearborn Street Coalition for Livable Neighborhoods, Quang H. Nguyen advocated for Seattle’s Little Saigon community in the face of a $300 million development project that would have changed the neighborhood’s profile. Although the economic downturn put an end to that project, the magazine featured Nguyen’s leadership and attempts to unite and preserve the Seattle Vietnamese community. Another individual profiled in the magazine was ACRS’ Executive Director Diane Narasaki.
