Welcome to our 2nd annual “Say What?! The Opinion Issue!” When I was first inspired last year to coordinate an Opinion Issue, our goal was to offer a space for our readers to speak out regarding matters they’re passionate about. We utilized the IE as their venue to share ideas, raise awareness, and inspire others to be involved in their communities. This goal has not changed. We’re bringing back our Opinion Issue to highlight the dynamic times we’re living in. From protests raging nation-wide and communities and causes struggling for power and recognition, there is no better time to speak out and be heard. Enjoy this issue’s live conversation with fellow community members. And a special thank you to our contributors!

Also, please view our Community Activist Training Manual (insert), funded by the City of Seattle Dept. of Neighborhoods. This year-long collaborative effort aimed to continue the dialogue between generations of API community organizers. We couldn’t include everyone’s stories and contributions, and every aspect of organizing, but we hope it serves as a first step towards meaningful conversation and inspires continued efforts for our community.
