The King County Council Law, Justice, Health and Human Services Committee expressed concern over what they speculate is King County’s attempt to balance their 2010 budget by apparently eliminating all County general funds for human services. The Council says this plan will have a direct and negative impact on public health and public safety, as well as our 400+ vendors and anyone who relies on human services funded with county support. This could also mean the elimination of all county funded youth shelters and county homeless programs with the exception of emergency shelters.
