Asians were the nation’s fastest-growing race or ethnic group in 2012, according to the U.S. Census Bureau population estimates. In all, the Asian population rose by 530,000, or 2.9 percent, from the preceding year, to 18.9 million. With racial minorities set to become the majority by 2050, there are growing opportunities for APIs to make an impact in the workforce.

For nearly 20 years, Executive Development Institute (EDI) has been helping multicultural leaders to reach higher positions of influence across the public and private sectors. EDI partners with more than 50 Northwest corporations to provide businesses relevant leadership programs to Asians and Hispanic people. EDI says there are more than 600 alumni contributing to leadership positions throughout the Pacific Northwest today.
