SEATTLE – Asian Pacific American policy makers from all over the nation will meet here in Seattle to discuss issues that affect the APA communities across the country.
The National Asian & Pacific American Caucus of State legislators (NAPACSL) will convene Friday, Aug. 19, in concurrence with the non-affiliated National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL)
The NCSL, as stated in a press release, “is a bipartisan organization that provides research, technical assistance and opportunities for policy makers to exchange policy ideas.”
The NAPACSL was founded two years ago at the NCSL meeting in San Francisco after a bipartisan group of APA lawmakers expressed a desire to discuss common challenges like quality education, immigration rights and access to good jobs, according to a press release.
The events will consist of a morning press conference that is also open to the general public, an afternoon panel on health awareness in the APA community and later in the evening there will be a reception, as Hyeok Kim puts it “to unwind, to celebrate, to network”.
