Seattle Public Library in Downtown Seattle will be celebrating Taiwanese Cultural Day on Sep. 6. • Photo by Nicola

The Seattle Public Library will host Taiwanese Cultural Day on Tuesday, Sep. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Central Library (1000 Fourth Ave.), featuring Taiwanese film, food, music and dance. Library programs are free and family-friendly. Parking is available in the Central Library garage at the regular rates. There will be a screening of Ang Lee’s award-winning movie “Pushing Hands” with English subtitles, samples of Taiwanese food and tea at a bilingual workshop, and music and dance performed by Taiwan International Youth Ambassadors.

Schedule of Events

10:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.: Film screening: “Pushing Hands” – Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium

1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Taiwanese Food and Tea workshop – Level 4, Washington Mutual Foundation Meeting Room 1

3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: International Youth Ambassador Performance – Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium
