The National Park Service will host a public workshop on Tuesday, December 13 from 5 – 7 p.m. in the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Washington (1414 S. Weller Street). Anyone interested in attending is welcome.
The purpose of this workshop is to review the general management plan and environmental assessment (GMP/EA) for the Tule Lake Unit of WWII Valor in the Pacific National Monument. The plan provides long-term guidance for how the National Park Service will develop and manage the unit, and how the stories of the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II will be told at Tule Lake.
The full GMP/EA document is available at parkplanning.nps.gov/TuleLakeGMP or by request.
The GMP/EA is available for public review with comments due to the National Park Service by February 10, 2017. You may share your comments by mail, e-mail, online at parkplanning.nps.gov/TuleLakeGMP, or at one of the upcoming public meetings.
