SAAFF A Chinese New Year Celebration with the China Club

Hosted by China Club of Seattle in collaboration with Seattle Asian American Film Festival. Ring in the Chinese New Year at China Harbor on January 18th, and celebrate the Year of the Pig in style. First half features social and dinner. In the second half, have a look back at the history of Asian American independent cinema and then SAAFF staff will discuss their favorite films and host a special preview of one of this year’s featured films! There will be decorations and various chances to win prizes throughout the night, and elections for club officers and board members for the coming year.
Tết in Seattle and Health Fair

Vietnamese Lunar New Year hosted by Tết in Seattle. Explore and experience the cultural roots and contemporary influences of Vietnam through live performances, hands-on activities, foods, crafts, games, martial arts and a lively marketplace. There will be tons of activities such as food truck vendors, live-performances, hands-on activities, and family-oriented events for all to enjoy. There will also be a health which will offer free screenings and other services.

APCC 21st Annual New Year Celebration: Featuring Hawaiʻi

From the Asian Pacific Cultural Center, this year’s new year celebration features the beautiful island and culture of Hawaii. There will be over 90 booths of cultural arts from many countries, drinks, retail booths, crafts, games, and more. This is fun for the whole family!
Lunar New Year Celebration in Chinatown-International District – Year of the Pig

Celebrate the Year of the Pig with lion and dragon dances, cultural performances, and the $3 Food Walk! Over the last few years, the Lunar New Year Celebration is one of the largest events of its kind in the region and showcases diversity, richness and culture of the Asian community. The collaboration with other neighborhood businesses/organizations has helped draw thousands of visitors from throughout the region for a day of festivities. The celebration includes traditional dragon and lion dances, Japanese Taiko Drumming, martial arts and other cultural performances on the Main Stage. Combined with arts, crafts, and a variety of family friendly activities there is something for everyone. Don’t forget the return of the Neighborhood’s Annual $3 Food Walk.

Performances by Aleksa Manila, Kylie Mooncakes, Miss Sriracha, & Ti T. Allies (especially other QTPOC) are welcome, but this event centers queer and trans AAPIs.
